Having to rush to the clinic is stressful for both mother and baby so be prepared and have your hospital bag with you. Here are a few items you may find helpful to have by your side during your stay at the Kensington Wing. 


For Labour

  •  Hair band to keep your hair off your face 
  • A loose t-shirt or top to wear during labour 
  • Lip balm/cooling spray 
  • Warm socks (as your feet often get cold in labour) 
  • Your favourite snacks and energy drinks for energy in labour 
  • TENS machine  

For Mum

  •  At least two changes of nightwear, front opening is ideal if  you are looking to breastfeed your baby 
  • Any medication you would normally take, including inhalers 
  • Several pairs of knickers, disposable knickers are ideal 
  • Your camera, to capture the first precious moments 

For Baby

  • Baby clothes i.e. baby grows, vests, socks, hat and scratch  mittens 
  • Car seat/buggy to take your baby home 
  • A blanket or something warm to take your new baby home
